When you turn on an inverter, the motor will start up slowly so that it does not use a lot of power, then the motor slowly speeds up to full power on a sliding scale. This way the system uses less power to initially start up. As the airconditioner gets closer to reaching your desired temperature that you requested on your keypad, the motor will start slowing down, thus using less electricity. And as an added benefit, the temperature in your home will remain more constant, assuming the heatload has been done and you have sized your airconditioning system correctly.The end result is that the motor does not have to completley stop and because of this you dont use a lot of electricity trying to make the airconditioning system commence from a complete stop. Avoid an undersized systems or you will use more electricity than a conventional air conditioning systems.
When moisture (known as humid air) is drawn over the evaporator coil (indoor unit) of a split system, the water in the air freezes onto the coil as it passes through.
This condensation (frozen water) soon melts off the coil and drains from the air conditioner via a drain.
Please see the table below, which specifies the maximum amount of condensate water that each capacity of split system air conditioner will generate.
|Litres per hour||1.6L||2.0L||2.4L||2.8L||3.5L||4.1L||4.7L|
All this water has to go somewhere… and if your air conditioner is generating up to 4.7 litres an hour, it MUST drain somewhere where it:
- Won’t affect the health and safety of people around it.
- Won’t affect the integrity of the buildings around it.
- Conforms with plumbing industry regulations.
