What is air conditioning?
The purpose of air conditioning is to control the filtration, air movement, temperature and humidity of an atmospheric environment. However, the more often used partial or comfort air conditioning which uses refrigeration equipment only and is therefore capable of cooling as well as dehumidifying is still referred to as air conditioning
How does an air conditioner work?
Air conditioners perform two basic functions: heat removal and moisture removal. The lower the humidity level, the more comfortable you will feel at a given temperature. As your warm indoor air is drawn up through the filter, it passes over a very cold coil whereby the heat and moisture are removed. If you’ve ever noticed a PVC pipe running down your wall or roof that drips water, that is the moisture removed from your home.
What is the best temperature to set for a comfortable environment so that the air conditioining unit doesn’t have to work as hard?

How does reverse cyle work?
In winter the reverse cycle take heat from the outside and moves it inside. In summer it moves heat from inside to outside, providing efficient cooling & heating.
My air conditioning unit was purchased from someone else, will you install it?
Yes. We install all brands and are more than happy to install!
What if I have an existing air conditioning unit, will you service it?
Yes. We service all brands and are more than happy to install!
What if I find a cheaper price elsewhere?
We will certainly beat any genuine written quote that is being offered by a competitor
How do I choose the right capacity air conditioner?
Check out our sizing calculator on our Specials page, it will give you an approximation of what capacity unit you need.
How long does it take to install an air conditioner?
It is usually best to allow approximately 3-5 hours for a standard split system installation and between one and two days for a ducted system, depending on the size of the unit and house.
Do I need a tech to carry out maintenance?
You will only need to have a technician to carry out the maintenance if you cannot do it yourself. When we finish the installation, we explain the maintenance requirements.
The benefit of having a technician carry out annual service is to identify possible problems, faults or deterioration of parts to avoid costly repairs and inconvenience.
What is a star rating?
The energy efficiency score. The more stars, the more efficient the machine. Star ratings are given for most of our systems in the specifications section.
What is refrigerant?
Refrigerant is the gas used in air conditioners. R32 is the most common air conditioning refrigerant used today and the most energy-efficient refrigerants with a low ozone depletion potential.
What is cooling capacity?
The cooling power of an air conditioning system is in kilowatts. The higher the number, the bigger the area the system will cool.
What is the condenser or compressor?
The outside machine in an air conditioner. It compresses and condenses refrigerant and pumps it to the inside machine through insulated copper pipes.
What is an evaporator?
The Evaporator is the inside machine. This may be in the form of a wall hung machine, floor standing, bulkhead or ceiling cassette. Refrigerant passing through the evaporator causes it to cool. Air blown over the coil by the fan is chilled
What is a diffuser or vent or outlet?
The opening in the rooms of a ducted air conditioning system through which conditioned airflows. Vents or outlet or Diffusers are usually mounted in the floor or ceiling.
What is an inverter?
Inverter refers to air conditioners using inverter technology with the compressors (main cooling device). This technology allows air conditioners the ability to change the speed of the compressor motor depending upon the desired cooling or heating requirements.
What is the best temperature to set for a comfortable environment so that the air conditioning unit doesn't have to work as hard?
The best temperature to set your air conditioner on cooling will be between 20 to 23 degrees and on heating mode between 25 to 28 degrees that way you can save a significant amount of energy without your system running constantly. Balance between comfort and efficiency of the system.
